Alison loves working with schools, community groups, outreach services and charities. Examples of this include ‘At Home in Scotland: Stories of Place’, a collaborative project with Kickstart, Contact the Elderly, Beltane Public Engagement Network and the Scottish Storytelling Centre. More recently, she has given lectures and workshops for GCSE, A-Level and Leaving Certificate students as part of the education programme at Seamus Heaney HomePlace, Bellaghy.

She currently volunteers with ‘Time to Read’, a paired reading programme with primary schools in Belfast.
